World Music Syndicate

A World Music Syndicate ötlete Arany Zoltán nevéhez köthető, aki a középkori- és világzenében szerzett tapasztalatai által vált ismertté világszerte. 2013 nyarán döntött úgy, hogy ezt zenekari formába önti, és bemutatja Európa népzenéjét. A társaság a különböző népcsoportok tradicionális zenéit prezentálja (magyar, bolgár, görög, spanyol, portugál, kelta-ír-skót stb.), méghozzá eredeti hangszerekkel fűszerezve, úgy, mint udu, tabla, buzuki, santur, bodhran stb.

Koncertjeiken ennek köszönhetően a hallgatóság egy kiránduláson vehet részt, amely bevezeti őket Európa csodálatos kultúrájának zeneiségébe.

The idea of World Music Syndicate came from Arany Zoltán who became well-known worldwide through his experience in medieval and world music. In the summer of 2013 he decieded to form a band and present the folk music of Europe. The society presents the traditional music of different nations (Hungarian, Bulgarian, Greek, Spanish, Portugese, Celtic-Irish-Scottish etc.), even spiced with original instruments as udu, tabla, buzuki, santur, bodhran etc.
Thank to this the audience can take part in an adventure through the concerts which enter them into the wonderful music culture of Europe.

A lámpás - The lamp

Egy régi lámpaoszlop miatt összevitatkozik az utca népe. Egy szerzetes arról kezd beszélni, hogy mielőtt hozzányúlnának a lámpához, tisztázni kéne, mi is a Világosság. A metafizikai problémákra kevéssé érzékeny közönség rövid úton megszabadul tőle, majd ledöntik a lámpát. Aztán hamarosan kiderül, hogy sem abban nincs egyetértés, hogy miért is kellett ledönteni, sem abban, hogy mit is kéne most csinálni - míg lassan beérik a felismerés, hogy előbb valóban a Világosságról kellett volna beszélni. Csakhogy amit megvitathattak volna a gázlámpa alatt, azt most a sötétségben kell megvitatniuk.

People have a discussion about a lamp post in the street. A monk started to talk about the question of Light. It has to be clarified, he say, the definition of light itself before starting to deal with the lamp. The audience who are less sensitive for metaphysical problems get shortly rid of the monk and pull the lamp post down. Then they realise that there is no agreement neighter why should it pull down nor what should they do now. Slowly the recognition comes out that they really should have talked about the Light. But what they would have discussed under the lamp now they have to do in darkness.

Mire való a csend? - What is silence for?

A magányosan élő szerzetes remetéhez egyszer emberek jöttek. Megkérdezték tőle:

- Mire való, hogy életed nagy részét itt töltöd el csendben és magányban?

A remete éppen azzal foglalatoskodott, hogy vizet merjen egy ciszternából, az esővíz összegyűjtésére szolgáló mély kútból. Fölfigyelt a kérdésre, s munka közben odaszólt a látogatóknak:

- Nézzetek bele a ciszternába! Mit láttok?

Az emberek kíváncsian körülvették a szerzetest, és próbáltak beletekinteni a mély kútba:

- Nem látunk semmit. - mondták kisvártatva.

A remete abbahagyta a vízmerítést, pár pillanatnyi csendet tartott. A látogatók feszülten figyeltek rá, mozdulni sem mertek:

- Most nézzetek bele a kútba egyenként, csendesen. Mit láttok?

A látogatók érdeklődéssel hajoltak egyenként a kút főlé, s felkiáltottak:

- Saját arcunkat látjuk a kútban!

- Bizony, amíg zavartam a vizet - mondta a remete -, nem láttatok semmit. De a csendben és a nyugalomban megismeritek önmagatokat. 

A látogatók megértették a remete tanítását.

Some people visited a monk hermit who is living in soulitude. They asked him:
- Why are you living your whole life in silence and solitary? What is it for?
This moment the hermit was pulling water from a deep well which collects the rain water. He noticed the question and during his work he told to the visitors:
- Take a look into the well! What do you see?
People were surrounding the monk curiously and trying to look into the deep well.
- We don't see anything. - they said.
The hermit stopped pulling the water and took a little silence for some moments. The visitors were watching him in attention without any movement.
- Now look into the well again one by one quietly. What do you see now?
The visitors were watching into the well one by one with interest and shouting:
- We see our own face!
- So, while I was disturbing the water you didn't see anything. But in silence and calmness you can recognise yourself!
The visitors were understanding the teaching.
